Location Description:Event Description:LUNCHEON SPEAKER CHANGE!Talk Description: 10 Lessons Learned as a Freelance Illistrator Nathan T. Wright will discuss what he’s learned after two years as a freelance illustrator and how to stay focused and inspired in the age of distraction – whether you’re a creative person inside a large organization or self-employed. Nathan will also explain what a Fetberg is. Biography: Nathan T. Wright is an illustrator and artist based in Des Moines, Iowa, specializing in graphic recording, custom illustration projects and comics. His work is inspired by sci-fi, emerging tech and mythology. Nathan is the creator of of Fatberg, a lovable sewer blob who stars in a children's book, webcomic and magazine comic strip. He draws cartoons for Clay & Milk, a publication covering new companies and art in the Midwest. Before taking the plunge as a full-time artist, Nathan worked in digital marketing with various stints at an advertising agency, his own consulting firm and a large retail company. He speaks about creativity and innovation for organizations, universities and conferences. Nathan graduated from the Iowa State University College of Design in 1999 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. He loves collaborating with companies, organizations and individuals on their visual storytelling needs. |
