The Digital Sales Engineer is responsible for providing sales support assistance to the Digital Ventures Division.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide sales and technical staff with technical s
upport in pre-sales activities including: Customer consultation and needs analysis
Preparation of proposals & project estimates Attendance at customer meetings and presentations
Play a primary role in the consultation process with customers in designing and documenting their requirements; translate this into a system design/functionality summary and related budget analysis document (needs analysis) for customer approval
Present educational presentations to customers
Assist in the preparation of customer proposals by Account Executives Manage the short term communication and account management with select House and Internal accounts where an Account Executive has not been assigned Liaise between Account Executives, customers and the Operations organization to develop a statement of work upon order confirmation to maximize efficiency and accuracy in the execution of the project
Establish, maintain, and actively pursue relationships, networking contacts, and channels with customers, key suppliers, and industry counterparts
Assist in the preparation of strategic sales and business development planning
Play a leading role in educating
Account Executives in the region and nationally on specific technologies and technology concepts Interface with the National operations team
Actively participate in retrospective review of projects to apply positive and negative experiences to future improvements in system design and process (lessons learned)
Participate in vendor relationships by actively seeking and understanding new products and new technologies, and present where applicable to internal SDI sales and management staff for consideration
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent training/experience
Minimum (3) three to (5) five years in sales and project management
Experience with the consultation and design process; in particular the ability to interpret technical data and system design and apply it to customer needs and applications
