We're looking for a creative who wants to do it all: TV, radio, digital, video content, social, direct mail. 'Cause we do it all here. In the morning, you could be creating banner ads to sell windows. In the afternoon, concepting a video about combating Human Trafficking in Iowa. In between, an impromptu brainstorming session on the latest lottery promotion. And throughout the week, you could be helping any number of our entrepreneurial clients solve the opioid crisis. Transforming Iowa waterways. Or market a new product that people will consider essential five years from now. If new business pitches and client presentations are your love language, we will make your heart go pitter patter. On certain days, puppies come by to visit. On Thursdays, our volleyball team kicks butt (although we could always use a good server). And yeah, we close every Friday at 3 p.m. Psychologically, it's like having a half-day off every week.
In short, we're looking for a confident person who: Believes they have the answers. Believes everyone has something to contribute. Enjoys the thrill of solving a puzzle. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Develop creative concepts based on the creative brief.
•Determine how best to represent a concept visually.
•Collaborate with creative directors, copywriters and graphic designers on layout and messaging of creative pieces, regardless of medium.
•Develop the overall look or style of print ads, direct marketing pieces, outdoor, digital elements and more ad individual deliverables or as part of a larger campaign.
•Ensure that the clients’ desired message is visually conveyed to consumers.
•Determine the best photographs, art, or other design elements to use.
•Provide direction to design staff as appropriate.
•Review and offer feedback on designs, artwork, photography, and graphics developed by other staff associates.
•Work with clients in the process of developing an artistic approach and style to a project.
•Present designs to clients for approval.
•Use effective presentation approaches, styles, and techniques to convey creative ideas to internal and external clients.
•Identify opportunities and solutions for improvement in the creative process.
•Collaborate with other departments, align team priorities with business objectives and deliver high-quality work on time and on budget.
•Train and mentor graphic designers and production artists.
•Complete design merges and production art projects as needed.
•Other duties as assigned. Qualifications (Include Education and Experience): Knowledge
• Proficiency with design software, including Adobe Creative Suite Skills
•Exceptional typography and layout capabilities
•Must be a team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks
•Ability to lead other designers and production artists
•Strong creative vision
•Excellent attention to detail and time management
•Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
•Strong support of SA’s desired culture
Education – Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional work experience.
Experience – Minimum of 8 years of agency or related experience as a graphic designer.
Certifications, Licenses, Associations, etc. – N/A.
