Advertising/Marketing Professionals - We Need Your Help!
We recently received information that Advertising tax deductibility may be at risk.
Dear AAF Members,
In Iowa alone, advertising helps generate $56.7 billion in economic activity. This is why we join the Advertising Coalition in asking Speaker Paul Ryan and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to preserve and maintain the current tax treatment of advertising as a fully and immediately deductive business expense. Current tax reform proposals include imposing massive taxes on advertising to pay for a reduction in the corporate tax rate. In Iowa alone, advertising helps produce over 176,445 jobs which accounts for 10.6% of all jobs in Iowa.
The proposed reduction on the deductibility of advertising related expenses not only threatens our local economy, but puts thousands of workers jobs at risk as well. We are dedicated to protecting the interests of our members and the advertising community and its partners.
I ask you to join me in contacting our Senators and Representatives and urge them to oppose any effort to place a tax on advertising by reducing the amount of advertising a business may claim as a normal and necessary business expense. Contact information can be found at senate.gov/senators/contact or house.gov/representatives – please don’t wait!
If you have any questions or would like to discuss further, please feel free to reach out to me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for your attention and swift action to help protect our industry.
All the best,
AAF of Des Moines President
